Word Verification Free Blogs

What is the word verification option?

The "word verification" option can be found on the Settings | Comments section in your blog.
If you choose "yes" for this setting, then people leaving comments on your blog will be required to complete a word verification step, similar to the one presented when you create a blog:






For one thing, Blogger does Spam filtering very well. If you have a Blogger account you generally don't have to worry about this.

Many Bloggers are starting to go this route. No Comment Moderation and no Word Verification.

One thing is that it is SUPER time consuming. Two is that I WANT to hear what you have to say and comment and I don't want to keep you from saying it. The other is if you want me to comment on your site and you have word verification, I won't be commenting anymore. I have a full time business and I am an avid blog writer and commenter. I just don't have the time.

Let's all be real here none of us have the time really. The internet world is vast can suck you into it's web in a matter of minutes. Do you really want to be wasting any more time trying to read spy words so you can comment on Someone's blog?

Also I found out that because of these Sight impaired or blind people cannot read or comment on my blog because of it. Well, that is lame. That takes out a whole demographic of people now doesn't it!

Google "Word Verification Free Blog" and you will find a vast amount of others who have also felt this was a good cause and deemed necessary for their blog as well.

In the new or old Interface it is in the Settings. Then Posts and Comments. 

Help spread the word by identifying  your blog as a "word verification free blog."  It's a courtesy to those who take time to comment on your posts.

August Break

One of the blogs I follow Awkward and Beautiful is hosted by none other than the wonderful and talented Natty Malik. I also follow Natty on Twitter and happen to see a mention of her doing something "simple" for August from a blog SHE follows. I asked more about it and she sent me the link! (Thank you Natty!)

I did In the Sun with Natty last year on my Art of Trisha Trixie blog and had a blast. If I were not so super busy right now I would do her Art Journals too! Funny that I mentioned being "too busy" because August Break  by Susannah Conway is completely opposite!

For this exercise we are to "take it easy" and "look at life through a lens". Now I was thinking...what about my sister who doesn't have a camera or a camera phone? Well, why not look at life through pictures!? I mean I am sure not everyone walks around this world with a camera phone or an available camera, but I don't see why those of you who don't own those, couldn't showcase a picture that represents how your feel, right? I mean why not?!! There is the internet, Pinterest, Deviant Art, and so much more! As long as you give credit where credit is due of course, now!! (Make sure you link back where the picture is from or let us know they are not yours) I don't know I am not Susannah Conway who is running this, but I think the concept is the same (if you ask me, which no one did but I am saying so anyway!)

I have been wanting to do something like this for 365 Days but never got to it. Maybe this will help me get in gear and once I have done it for 30 days I can continue on.

So I grabbed the badge color that spoke to me (pink of course) and I will be adding it to my page widgets tonight. Then starting August 1st I will take pictures to share with the world. That is it. No words. Just images

How it works: you simply share one photo (or more!) each day on your blog – Monday to Friday, or every day. Or whenever you feel moved to share. No pressure – just looking at August through your camera lens as a way to be more present this summer. And to have a little break from the pressures and expectations of regular blogging.

Too Blonde for Marriage

I was looking up a quote and ran across this script from Legally Blonde. First I started laughing and then that thing I hate seeing or talking about or thinking about came up...and I stopped dead in my tracks...

Some more crap about Marriage! Ugh, why does everyone have to be getting married or talk about it. I am tired of seeing Wedding commericals or ring ads! I can't even watch a TV show without there being something about it.

But this one was a bit different. I didn't cry or get upset. I felt nothing. Now I don't know if that is good or bad, but it made me fully aware of my feeling at that moment.

Here is the part I am referring to...

 You're breaking up with me?

              I thought you were proposing.

              Proposing?

              Elle, if I'm going to be a senator...

              I need to marry a Jackie, not a Marilyn.

              You're breaking up with me because I'm too blonde?

              No. That's not entirely true.

              Then what? My boobs are too big?

              Elle, your boobs are fine.

              So when you said that you would always love me...

              you were just dicking around?

              Elle, I do love you.

              I just can't marry you

But this part at the end of Legally Blonde is the best. She tried so hard to be what he wants. The he wants her. She realizes she is past it, past him and past her feelings and she moves on and gets on with her life...the closing speach I fee epitomizes me

           After getting off to a quite interesting start... 

                I'm sure we are going to see great things from her.

              On our very first day at Harvard...

                a very wise professor quoted Aristotle.

                "The law is reason free from passion."

                Well, no offense to Aristotle...

                but in my three years at Harvard...

                I have come to find that passion is a key ingredient...

                to the study and practice of law and of life.

                It is with passion, courage of conviction...

                and strong sense of self...

                that we take our next steps into the world...

                remembering that first impressions...

                are not always correct...

                you must always have faith in people...

                and most importantly...

                you must always have faith in yourself.

                We did it!

I realize in everything we see or hear that it is what we take away from it that matters. So what I took away from this was a few funny and perhaps not so funny things...

1.  I am an Audrey, Jackie, Elle, and Marilyn rolled up in one
2. I have no clue what my hair color would be if you mixed all those together but I am a Blonde through and through and am tired of trying to be serious
3. Men hate defining a relationship. Women always want to define it. Adage I heard recently. "The sure fire way to kill a relationship is to try to define it." YEP.
4. At the end of watching A Girl with a Dragon Tattoo I said "See men rarely make it clear where the relationship stands, present bf included! " The boyfriend came back with"Girls always assume" funny
5. Relationship building is NOT for the weak. You must be strong because often the outcome may not be what you envision. 
6.  I am growing tired of trying to figure out what it was that was wrong with me for why he didn't want to marry me
7. I have made a new female friend that I always hoped would be but never thought in a million years and I learned to never give up HOPE, jsut make sure you put your Hope it the right place
8. Second to that never give up FAITH, but put your FAith in God where it belongs
   
9.  I decided instead that just like Elle Woods I came to realize the ex BF was in fact...a Bonehead! :)
   
10.  I am NOT too blonde for marriage

What it Means to Be a Friend

In the new Musical 13 they describe what it means to be a friend

My version:

My friends call me from time to time. I call them from time to time. We see each other when the other is in town. We share our interests and things that don't. Being a friend doesn't mean picking and choosing what you will be there for. It means answering questions you may not want to answer. It means being truthful when you know it may hurt. It means being there for someone when it's ideal and when it's not.It means being there for your friend as well as in a relationship. One should not supersede the other. It is being there when it's inconvenient as well as convenient. It means being there the ups and downs and the emotional roller coaster that may or may not pertain to you. It means sticking it out no matter what even when things don't always jive or you don't agree. It means being allow to disagree. A friend who talks for hours when you're feeling alone, even if it means going over on his cell phone minutes; the evidence of true friends is what they do to show their loyalty, honesty, trustworthiness, or willingness to make a sacrifice when you need help. Sometimes what a good friend needs from you is brutal honesty, not a cheerleader. IT is GIVE and TAKE.  The following words are also how I feel about friendship....please read...

 A good friend is busy (like most of us) but still manages to make time for me. Good friends know that friendships are one of the perks in life designed to improve your world. They do not look at friendships as a waste of time, or something to pay attention to only when they need a favor. To that end, they make time even when they are busy by proactively keeping in touch through email, Facebook Twitter, and phone calls.

A great friend rallies behind you without prompting when you need a few words of encouragement, and stands by you when you make a life-changing decision. While friends might not always agree with the things you are doing, they support you all the same. This means that when you need a shoulder to cry on or somebody to celebrate with, they are right by your side.

Friends know how to have fun and they help you have it. When they can't be there to enjoy it with you, they share your excitement and joy and share it remote if need be.

When it seems like no one in your life will tell you the truth, your friend will have your back. They  might not always tell you what you want to hear, but they will be honest with you, and that is valuable in today's world. More than that, their honestly will always be meant to help you rather than cut you down.

When they disagree with you, it's done in a respectful way that is meant for you both to come to an understanding, not to change your mind or to "win." Your level of trust is high with a good friend because they respect you too much to ruin your relationship.

I am a High Maintenance Friend.But I am a giver. I am loving and kind. I will give you the shirt off my back. I will drive for hours to help you and take my last dollar and give it to you. I will answer a call in the dead of the night to be there for you. Even if I have an excruciating migraine, I will do my darndest to be there for you. I support my friends and I yearn to be them for them. I give them my all. I am empathic to their needs and help to lift them up not tear them down. It means encouraging them to be their best. IT means accepting them when they are not. It means being there when they are weak and helping to make them strong again.

It means phone calls, emails, texts, visits, cards letters, all things to keep in touch, show concern, care and love for your friend. In today's world, I don't understand why someone can't take the time for me, when I take the time for them.

Friendship isn't easy. Friendship is a dynamic of a relationship and ALL relationship take EFFORT. I know me, I know I require much effort.

The true question I ask all my friends is this

Am I worth your effort?

Personal Manifesto- Positive Affirmation Statement

I value so much the manifestos where I have learned from fellow bloggers and life coaches. I do not want to take anything away from what they offer and I am sure I could have easily paid to have one created by one of these amazing people. I jsut know me better than they do, I know how to leverage documents, I know my inner me and I know graphic design and am a creator and felt I could make my own. So I did.
