Moving with a Checklist: The Trixie Way to Go

Moving. The every daunting task. If moving out of one home was all there was, I think it would nto be so daunting. However, we have Sell the house, pack, find a new place, arrange trailers or trucks, move to new place unpack and yeah, oh by the way, plan a wedding and handle two businesses along with your health issues.

Hey, but I'm not complaining. (Ok I am a little) I keep telling myself "I wanted this" so as not to kill myself for suggesting it. I found a sheet on line that I am using to help me do everything needed for the move.

There are a few things on here I don't need because I don't have littles (however I do have cats) and some things don't apply, but for the most part, this is ONE of the sheets I am using. I have a whole other one for selling the house (I'll do that post next) but for now, this to me comes first. Either way, we are moving and all these things need to be done.

It is all a bit daunting to me, but I know one way or the other it will get done even if it isn't in my perfect little checklist or order.

I am using this to help me along the way so I don't go cray cray.

Some would say, the ship has sailed on that one ! :)

Hope this helps you if you are moving.

Or perhaps you are a follower or friend who delights in the life of Trisha Trixie and how she handles thing in her world.

Ok, I am talking in third person now....I things the moving has gotten to me. :)

TTFN...
XOXO Trisha Trixie

Being in a Relationship

Every morning I wake up with my Hunney Pants and do things to help him out the door.

I sometimes make tea (an sometimes he makes it to wake me up)

when he gets in the shower, I get up and Auto Start his Jeep

Then I prepare his lunch for him, sending him off with something for a snack, something for a mini morning meal, something for lunch (sandwich, soup ingredients he just adds water, or something like ramen etc), make his tea mix for him adding Black tea, roobis, matcha, yerba mate, ginger, gotu kola, ginseng, a little stevia leaves to sweeten, and sometimes a touch of cardamon, cinnamon, black pepper chai mix or some dried fruit berries. From time to time I toss in a little love note to wish him well or let him know how much I appreciate him.

Once in awhile I may pick out his clothes for him or help him match things up. From time to time he asks me what sweater goes with what. (He is a sweater, zip up or pullover guy because his office is always cold no matter the temp)...ps. I love sweater or vest guys. :)

Then he generally asks me the weather for the morning and for the day. I look it up on my tablet or smart phone and this decides which coat he wears.

Then I clean up my messes while he gathers his things for the day.

Once he is ready, we always hug, sometimes a peck on the lips or cheek or forehead, and then he is on his merry way. He asks me my plans for the day and we discuss each others day for a moment.

I stand at the door with the kitty cats, watching him leave. I want to make sure he gets out ok, no accidents pulling out of the driveway (our block seems to drive pretty fast) and drives away.

Then I lock the front glass door and carry on my business or tasks.

To some these may seem small or minute to some. However, they are dearly important to the both of us. I help him get ready. He helps me get awake. We take care of each other and we don't leave things one to the other to do alone.

Being in a relationship is more than just a title. To me it is not only a privilege but an honor. I know my ways and views are very "RETRO" but this is how I think, I breathe I live...in a retro state of mind.

We care for each other. We take care of each other. We are interested in what the other is doing. We are engaged in communication. We do things to ensure the other is loved, tended to and cared for.

We know each other's Love Language and we respond to what the other needs. My tops are praise/encouragement and Gifts. His is Physical Touch and Quality Time.

I love my relationship with my Hunney Pants (our nickname for each other) and I know without a shadow of a doubt the he loves me and his relationship with me.

Being in a relationship is not about the wedding, the ring, the kissing, the title or all the external things in life.

Being in a relationship, a good one, is loving each other fully, wholly and 100% on each side.

I feel lucky and honored to be able to call him my fiancee' love him as well as our relationship.

Until Next Time,

My Roadmap to Peace and Happiness

I live my life through voracious eyes like a child. Everything I do, see, touch I take in like a new experience, though I have never seen it before. I taste the air, I envision my future. I touch the world.

I savor life to it's fullest, because I never know which day could be my last.

I tell my friends and family TRULY how I feel and let them know their importance to me, how much I appreciate them, and how much I dearly cherish their friendship.

I aim to be positive no matter what life throws at me.

I know I cannot control the experiences (good or bad) that happen to me or around me, but I can control how I let it affect me and my mood.

Sometimes, I have a good cry, and then I meditate and go on my merry way. We all need the good with the bad.

We need the bitter to taste the sweet. However, we do not have to live in the "badlands of feelings" we can conquer it, we can overcome.

Each day, each, moment, each breath is a gift. That is why it is called "The Present" I do not live in the past or allow my past to define me.

I do not allow toxic people to keep darkening my door.

I do not allow negative influences, such as negative posts, words, toxic people, tv, radio etc to diminish my level of happiness.

I set and keep boundaries to maintain my happiness. I stand for my rights, desires, and beliefs. I know I am "enough" in all I do and how I am.

When I realize I am "out of whack" chakras are off or I just don't feel "at one" with myself, I stop, take a breath and do all I can to recenter myself.

I am not afraid to ask for help, healing, or connection because I know that asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength to know who I am really am and be solid enough and strong enough to reach out for assistance or to take it when it is offered to me.

I am still learning the fine art of saying "NO" and when I realize I have taken on too much, do whatever I can to back down from those things or reach out and ask for someone to assist or take over.

I allow others the freedom and desire to assist because I know it helps them as much as it helps me.

My testimony is strong because I have walked through fire and did not get burned. I may have been singed a little but I came out alive. Alive from the hurt, the heartaches, the hardships and the trials.

I know those trials will have a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow because "blessings come after a trial of faith."

I can stand firm in the eye of a storm now, because I know the wind will die down or I have the choice to walk through the hurricane and suffer the consequences or wait until the storm passes, or bomb has been dropped, etc and dust myself off, check for holes, patch them up if there are any, put a smile on my face...and carry on.

Through the help of Brave Girls Club and many others like Leonie Dawson, Michelle Ward, Jessica Swift, Jaime Ridler, Danielle La Porte, Brene Brown, Elizabeth Gilbert and more, I have ascended to a higher way of thinking.

So many times people think my life is easy, or simple, or I have a perfect life. That could be non further from the truth.

Success, happiness, joy, luck, opportunity, etc doesn't not land at my feet or magically appear for me.

I work at it! I strive for it! I am determined to attain it. I pray for it, ask for it and manifest it by doing those things with a belief in my heart of attainment, however knowing, if my desire does not happen, then it was not meant to be so and I learn my lesson and move on.

I suffered many trials to get where I am today.

I endured many hardships. I suffered much loss. I witnessed more of my fair share. I have been broken down, I was fragile like glass, I fell off a few shelves.

The difference in me than others at times?

I did not stay down for long. I lifted myself back up, always with help either from a human or a higher power greater than me.

I did not happenstance upon the life I lead.

The difference is I choose happiness.

I chose Fabulous.

I chose to live.

Until next time,

On Being a Friend: Facebook Friends vs Real Friends

How about I'll be me and you be you...

Ok, so I am on a day early on Facebook then what I wanted (was going to only be on FB on Fridays and today is Thursday) and how this happened is because so damn much is connected to FB that it feels as though we can't escape it. I deactivated my account this week to start having harder disciplines and yet, just so I could get to my Wedding Wire account and Spotify account I HAD to log in through FB because I couldn't get in through any other way. Thus, removing the "deactivation" for the week and logging me in.

And because I forgot to turn off the Spotfy "sharing to FB"  when I was sharing other music with Twitter and Tumblr, it sent one to my profile. But I am music, music is in me and moves me, so why wouldn't I share music. Because someone told me I over share, I share too much music. Well, I decided, I will share music if I want to. If you don't want to see all those posts and nay others I share, following my life, my Facebook etc is not "mandatory" for you.

Slowly I am coming back to this. I am me. You are you. We do not have to like the same things or feel the same way about politics, religion, opinions or ideas or even music or how much I should or shouldn't post on social media.

In the epitome of realism that I like to think I am, I am getting back to this way of thinking that I can be and you can be you and we can still be friends. If we can't, then perhaps we were never meant to be friends in the first place.

Being someone's "friend" on Facebook is not really being their friend. Being a friend is sending people notes. Letting others know you care. Being there for them even if you don't want to, because there will be days they will be there for YOU, even when they don't want to, because that is just want friends do. Friends send cards, notes, emails caring about one another and loving another person for the simple fact of friendship. When they call, you answer. Not always because you WANT to hear their voice, but because out of all the many people they could have chosen to call they called you.

I found this to be true when sending note cards and emails these past few weeks. I want people to think about it and feel my love for them and know that same thing. Out of all the many people you "could have" gotten a note from, you got one from me. Because I care. Because I have your address. Because when I asked for your address, you gave it to me. Why? Because you told me, by giving me that address that YOU wanted to hear from ME. So then I feel special and like a friend because the same applies. Out of all the many people you could have given your address to, you gave it to me, because you wanted to hear from ME.

This warms my heart.

As much as , when I desire to visit someone, or stop by their home, or have coffee wit them, out of all the many people they could take time to be with, they are taking time to be with me. And how I hope they feel the same.

In our Social Media driven world we think now that sending a request, with no warning, or background with the other person, and then accepting it, qualifies as being a friend. It does not. We also use this tool incorrectly in that we meet someone in business and then suddenly decide, "Hey I need to be friends with that person" but that also is not true. Business pages are there for a reason. Use them. If you want to connect with another you met via Business, go follow their page.

I remember back in 2004 asking others, "Do you Facebook?" and wanting their info to connect with them because I felt that their person (meaning them as a REAL person) was so unique that I wanted to connect more.

This has changed. Now, in 2015, we oft times do not even know them as a person we just find out that Sally is a friend of Dave's so we then want to be friends with Sally. Why? We don't even know Sally. What if she is a crazy bitch? Or vice versa. We see Dave is a friend of Joe so we relate this to thinking "Well, if Dave has Joe as a FB friend he MUST be a cool guy" when in reality, Dave happened upon Joe's profile much in the same and in reality, know NOTHING about Joe. What if Joe is a stalker? What if he is a perv? (this happens more than most) What if Joe starts sending you inappropriate pictures and request? (talking from truth here) Or what if even is Joe were a nice guy, but if you knew him in "real life" you would find that you really don't have anything to connect with and you most likely wouldn't be friends? (this is what I am finding out)

It is not to say, that Facebook can't be good. It can. It has reconnected me with some High School pals I am happy to talk with again. However, I just realized that some of those High School people, treated me like shit and I really could care less if they are on FB or not. Why was I connected to them? Do we interact now. Not really. Do I care about what they have to say? Not really? So then I go back to the question I said before and ask myself

"Would I be friends with this person IRL?"

If the answer is a resounding "No" then buh-bye FB Friend, because I don't think we really care about each other. That answer comes to me from, looking at things on FB that answer that question. Do they comment on anything I say. No. Do they post things on my wall that they know I will like. No. Do they answer a Fb message or comment I have sent them? No. Do we really interact at all? Not really. ah, k, um, yeah, Buh-bye.

I also have made NEW friends I would never had connected with had it not been for FB. But that happening is far and few between. But I have started looking at whether or not there is a REAL connection.

But wait you say, what if I am a "watcher". I don't say much, but I watch what goes on in other peoples lives. That doesn't mean I don't care. I do care. I care what happens to my FB friends I just never comment, respond or say anything.

Hmm, well, my question to you then is this "Why not?"

If you saw that person IRL and they shared all these things about their life with you, would you stand there like a lump on a log silent? No, you would respond, interact, engage. But yet on FB, you don't. Do you think that person doesnt notice? Cuz they do. Do you think that person doesn't care about your response or what you have to say? They do. They really do.

We need to use these tools for interaction in the same manner as we would IRL.

IRL, would you go on and on sharing horrible pictures of things about death, depression, divorce and the bad news going on in the world? Is that what we would say? Is that REALLY what we would share? Or would we interject positivity into some of those things we share? I think we would.

My mother told me something about doing things in life "If you say or do something and it could be in the papers, would you still do it? I liken this to FB and other things online like Snapchat or Google Plus or Tumblr to mention a few but all Social Media in inclusive of this...

If you thought what you send on your phones, or do or say secretively was going to go around to ALL the internet to see, would you still act the same? If not, then you might want to reconsider doing it, because those things, are there forever. You think because you deleted something that it is gone? HA! it is not gone. Just gone "to you" the people behind the scenes still have access to all of that.

How you treat people, what you say and do with them or to them online, is the same.

I hope to make a difference. I hope to show others, that their friendship matters to me. That what I share, do and say with them and to them, is what I would say and do and act in front of them.

and if there are people I don't see in this way, that I WOULD interact or engage with them if they were my friends in real life...then perhaps they shouldn't be connected to me on FB.

Until Next time,

XoXo Trisha Trixie

Soundtrack and a Score

Music moves me. Not like it moves a lot of people, but it moves me in such a way that every lyric, every line has meaning for me.

I have sent You Tube Videos and songs from Spotify or Pandora to people and they are like "um, ok, thanks" in the way that they don't get it. The don't get why I sent them that song. They don't get it, because they don't listen. They don't listen to the lyrics and they don't listen with their heart.

To me, music is buried deep within my soul.

Every song, every lyric has meaning to me.

Some songs make me happy, their beat, their words, everything about it. I feel alive and energized when I hear them. I want to dance in my car or have a dance party at home because of them.

Some songs make me sad and move me to remember saddness in my life, like the loss of a loved one, in death or in life, the loss of a friend or the loss of a love in my life through breakups or divorce.

Other songs, reach deep into my soul and move me to the core. Their essence is alive in me. I want to share it. I want someone else to know how I feel.

And then there are songs I want to share. Those things are songs that have meaning and that I desire to share with others. However, there are not many people I CAN share with because most people don't GET IT.

If you find yourself among those I share a song with and you don't WANT me to do that or don't understand why, please let me know. If you are someone I share a somng with and you DO GET IT and like that, please also let me know.

Music is important to me.

I live my life with a soundtrack in my head a score in my soul

The Roles We Play

For all my life I have done what others asked of me. I played the role others asked of me. I played the role of the doting daughter. I played the role of the good niece. I played the role of a great friend, there for everyone. I did the dishes when told. I cleaned my room when I was asked. I was there for my friends when they needed me. I did what I was told and what was expected of me. I was a good girl. I didn't break outta the house or sneak away to go see boys. Hell, I didn't even have my first kiss until I was nearly 18 and didn't date until well after that. I was a slow bloomer so it was ok to do all the things I was told to do. Then I turned 18 and I bloomed...

From that moment on I had a new role to play.

I had the role of the head turning woman. I had the role of the stunning, breath catcher. I had the role of the confidant female. I had the role of the sensual woman. I had the role of the someone that mattered to others.

I was no longer the ugly duckling. I was no longer the girl no one ever saw. Now, I was the woman that people took notice to.

With this new role came on other responsibilities, of course. With this role I was to act calm, cool, collected. With this role I was supposed to be the woman that held it together. With this role, I am expected to be ok with guys hooting and hollering at me. With this role I am expected to be ok with guys making passes at me, married or not. With this role, I am expected to be not just ok with my beauty, but exude it.

I know I am beautiful.

I am not haughty about it or egotistical. It is a fact.

I once was the girl no one looked at....and now I am the woman everyone sees.

Sometimes being beautiful is like fame. I hear people tell me things like "Oh to be as beautiful as you!" or "You are stunning!" and then when they find out I am actually ten years older than they thought I was, they are really stunned.

I am graceful and say thank you because that is what is expected.

If you think a beautiful girl has no worries you are wrong.

It is like a standard that you live up to. It is like being a celebrity.

and it is not easy.

Sometimes I have wished to be the girl back in the corner of the party no one ever saw. Until about a dozen former high school boys tell you that they DID see you but were too shy to say anything to you. Oh well, there goes that idea.

Once you have beauty, life changes.

Friends, Guys I used to be able to hang out with now are constantly making passes at me. A business meeting can slowly turn into shared thoughts of dreams a man had about me. There are times I avoid my male friends because I don't want to have to deal with these kinds of issues. I just want to talk to my friend. I just want to hang out, play games, or watch them play ball, or something. Sometimes I just want to have a drink and it mean nothing. It means I am having a drink. Not hey, I wanna sleep with you.

Then there is the flip side of the male coin....their wives or girlfriends or mothers. I really do want to be the female they feel comfortable with, but I am just, well..NOT. I am not because I have something they don't. I have "je ne se quoi" I have that thing, that thing you can't quite put your finger on. I believe it is my savor for life, honestly.

It is no secret my father passed when I was young. I learned hard and fast, life is short, you gotta live it while you can. No one will ever be able to say that I didn't live a full and fabulous life, because I did in every way I could and I still am.

Most people live this bleak existence of life, doing what everyone tells them to do. But I don't. I live life on MY terms. and that's exciting, I don't care who you are!

How often do I hear "You are unique. You are so different than other woman I have met. You are so real, so raw so authentic" Yes. Yes, I am.

So, that is the role I play. The role of the woman every man wants to be around and the woman everyone wants to be. If that isn't like fame, then I don't know what fame is.

Just remember, with that sort of fame comes responsibilities.

Responsibilities like being ok when a man tells you his wife thinks he is having an affair with you and all you did was have lunch with him.

Suddenly I am a threat. I am a threat to their life, their son, their husband, their marriage.

Well, maybe this is too real for the world, but you wanna know what I think?

Take care of the grass on your lawn and your man won't keep looking on the other side of the fence. Grass grows where it is watered.

I can't help it if someone thinks that. I was just being me. I was playing the role of me.

Sarcasm: I don't Get It

I don't get sarcasm. I mean honestly. Just say what you want to say. Don't beat around the bush or say odd or weird things. Don't say "That was a NICE way to put it!" in a snarky tone. Just say "I am offended and didn't like the way you said that to me." I get that. I understand that.

Someone please explain to me why even use sarcasm and what it's purpose is because personally, I think it is just rude

HandWash or Dishwash? The Retro Vintage Housewife's Dilemma

Oh me oh my...what to do, what to do....

In today's time of the future, everything seems to be "Modern" but years after the first dishwasher was invented, is it REALLY so useful and helpful? The funny thing about this commercial was that  all the ladies desperately wanted a dishwasher in their home to be "Modern" and yet nowadays I find more and more people going back to the retro ways of doing things, including, but not limited to, dishwashing.

Yesterday, after going through my Retro Housewife Chore List, Kitchen was on the agenda for Monday. I enjoyed doing all the tasks and made a conscious decision to NOT use the dishwasher. My man thought I had a screw loose, but he obliged. Generally, he fails to rinse off, or scrape off the food anyway, which gets clogged in the dishwasher therefore, washing the food against the dishes unless the drain gets cleaned out  each and every night. (Which it doesnt btw)

So I found my little rack to hold dishes and loaded up a hot sink of sudsy water. I put on my rubber gloves and started the task. It was nice, peaceful and something simple. I had time to relax and think about the rest of my days tasks as well as other things. I read up on this blog about it and I wanted to write to you today to share my two cents worth...

http://the50shousewife.com/2015/01/hand-wash-or-automatic-dishwasher-which-is-better/

She states that HandWash is here way to go and well, I have to agree.
There used to be a method to dish washing and she quotes Lydia Maria Gurney in her 1914 book entitled Things Mother Used to Make:
First of all, remove all refuse from the dishes.  Place them near the sink, large plates at the bottom, then the smaller ones, then saucers.  Have a large pan full of very hot water.  Make a good soap suds by using a soap shaker.  Wash the tumblers and all glassware first, and wipe at once.   Use a handle dish cloth (which can be bought for five cents), for these, as the water will be too hot for the hands.Wash the silver next.  Have a large pan, in which to place the clean dishes, cups and bowls first.  When all are washed, pour over them boiling or very hot water, and wipe quickly.  Pans and kettles come last.  Always have a cake of sand soap or a can of cleaning powder, for scouring the pie plates and bottoms of kettles.  It is very little work to keep baking tins and kitchen utensils in good condition, if washed perfectly clean each time they are used.Wash the dish towels, at least once every day, and never use them for anything else.    With clean hot water, clean towels, and plenty of soap dishwashing is made easyIf you live in New England, your sink will be in front of a window.  Be sure to plant just outside of this window nasturtiums, a bed of pansies, morning glories, and for fall flowers, salvia.  These bright blossoms will add to your pleasure while washing dishes.
I prefer the handwashing method now and got to wondering when I stopped handwashing items? When I was growing up in Boone, Iowa on the farm, there was one sink, no washer and grandma washed everything. My sister, who also owned the house latter, did the same thing. When I was growing up and it was our turn, I remember the water always being very hot and I always felt like my hands were burning. I remember being told how bad a job I did and that the dishes always had to be washed after me all over again. Then when I was older, men in my life told me the same thing.
So I realized just today that this is just like one of those "Lies we tell ourselves" . I told myself, "I am bad at handwashing" and thus because people told me that, I believed it too. How silly of me! If it was not for www.bravegirlsclub.com and the lessons I learned there, I would not have been able to recognize this untruth. Thank goodness I did and now I have "Changed the conversation" as they said in Mad Men and now I am back in the handwashing mode.
Also I want to say, if we DO use the dishwasher we do use natural ingredients. We mix Dishwashing soap and Borax and add a touch of Citric Acid (for bubbles) and it works well. Too well in fact as we had some special glasses we bought at the Spy Bar in Wisconsin and now all the pain is off the glasses. This is in part why I went back to hand washing. I want to preserve the glass I have that have etching or paint on them to keep them nice.
So take a few things from this:
Decided if you are a hand washer or a machine washer type of person.
Think about if either of those ideas came from something someone else told you like it was for me.
Change the conversation (if you want to) and do what you like.

Vintage Homeaking: Trixie Style

I was scrolling one day last week discussing with my man about how one didn't need to go to the gym or fitness club because the regular day of chores would be workout enough. I know already that when I do certain household tasks I am worn out at the end of the day, and I don't get worn out too often.

Now that I am refocusing my energy towards cleaning, moving and being a true retro housewife, I wanted to updated my cleaning list. For years I have used Fly Lady Routines and for the most part they work for me. I of course, had to adjust a few here or there and ended up slowly moving away from ALL the tasks and sticking with ones that really speak to me, like Always Shine Your Sink, and Put Shoes on Everyday etc. Eventually I wandered off to www.the goodwife.com Houe chores list and have mostly used that for the past few months. However, it still wasn't cutting it, but I just made a sticky note list and worked off off both lists.

Until this weekend. In looking for these retro chores for a good workout, I  instead found some great sites I want to share with you....

This one for weekly for each day's tasks http://www.newbienesters.com/2014/11/a-1950s-housewife-weekly-cleaning-list.html

Aside from the "put the kids to be" or there NOT being something on there for pets, I real;y like these so far. I have only done Sat, Sun, Mon and Tues so far but I must say it really has helped me be more organized and like my house is in order.

At least until I make my OWN Cleaning routines. Trixie Tasks for Retro Living anyone?

Have a Fabulous day! Enjoy the links and tasks.

What Helped me get from ^Fragile^ to **FABULOUS**

Many people who know me, know that I have undergone some dramatic, hard and unbelievable trials and adversity in my life. I was very fragile when younger and even in my twenties up to my thirties...I believed I was a victim and though I was still smiling, underneath I had NOT released those insecurities and thoughts that were weighing me down.

After a VERY hard breakup that nearly tore me apart, I fell...Rock bottom I went. I had hit rock bottom before and if you think you CAN"T hit it more than once, well you are WRONG. Sadly, you can. After losing my children, being homeless, and many other things I couldn't deal with it all. But with a pal who allowed me to run away to Oklahoma for awhile and get my shit together, I made it back again. So when it happened again, I needed to do the same and another dear friend allowed me to come to Colorado and escape for awhile.

After having the time to focus on me, get some healing and go through some rejuvenation of self, I was able to come back to reality. But friends love and care and encouragement was not enough for me. I am a Self Help Book and Course lover and found through this time in my life these things that helped me through.

One may not work for you, two many may be overwhelming. None of them may work for you. I am not saying they will. I am merely saying, these are the courses I took and the things "I" did that helped me. I want to share them, share my love and share my life with others so that perchance they may overcome and be the FABULOUS person they have inside them and let the world see that person.

Here is the link to my page which shares the links to all the places and the fabulous people that were a part of my journey that led me to here.

as well as an artist doing Challenge through Willowing

and The Summer of Color

I took the colors from SOC and applied them to the Monthly Challenge I was doing on Willowing.

BY going through these courses, reading these words, have them emailed to me daily or weekly, pouring myself into the courses and challenges really worked for me. Even if you are NOT an artist, doing small things to unleash your creative side would surprise you how healing it is.

I am SO very thankful to all these people who spend their time doing things for good to help others.

My life would not be the same with out it...

and I would not be the person I am today!

Pride

Today someone I dearly admire said how proud she was of me on Facebook. Now maybe, to the rest of you, you hear things like this all the time so it means nothing to you. But to me, it means the world. I have done many things in my life and with those many things I have had many struggles, many failures and MANY lessons.

This was not my mother, though she often tells me too. This was not from a best friend who has known me forever, though they DO often tell me that as well. No, this was fro a Mentor. Someone I only recently met. Someone who has done well in the community I live and someone who other people admire. That is why this carries so much weight for me.

I barely know this person. However, in the little time I have known her, she has encouraged me, inspired me, supported me mentally and spiritually and believed in me.

There was once a time when I remember my man telling me so profoundly, "I believe in you" and how I thought my whole body was going to melt.

Today, when this person said she was proud of me, I felt like it was a good thing I was sitting down or my knees would have buckled.

I debated on which blog to post this. I felt like it could be a great lesson of my Trixie Tabloids. It could inspired others for Trisha Trixie Designs. But in the end, I felt this blog, my blog, my heartfelt thoughts an emotions...this is the blog it should be on, because this is me.

This is me pouring my heart out to you. The interwebs, those who will listen and even if there is no one there, this is where I felt like I needed to share because this blog page is the real me. It is the realest me you will get. Not the you I allow you to see, but the depths of my emotions me. The me I have forgotten about. The me, I am showing you once again.

The me that relishes in things like a simple "I am proud of you". How little we tell others these kinds of things and how VASTLY it can make a difference to someone. How greatly those little words made a difference in me tonight. Even though it was not even verbal, I heard the tone in her text, in the words as they were laid out on the page of Facebook..."I am proud of you!"

Thank you BB for those words. Thank you for making my heart feel full tonight. Thank you for making joy fill my heart so full that is welled up my eyes with happiness to know that someone I admire so much admires me.

To the rest who may be reading this, take the time to tell another how you feel.

It may seem like nothing to you, but mean the world to them.

And for the ones who will hear me, the ones who NEED to hear me, Be Proud. Be proud of yourself, who you are, how far you have come and how much you have accomplished. It's ok. Be Proud. For you are Fabulous.

Tough Love

I guess this is the year of tough love. Or perhaps it is the year I throw down the boundaries again. Not sure, but I do know this is the year that I take a stand. I am tired of sitting down, sitting back and not standing up for myself to other for fear that there will be drama or issues or such.

I am actually proud of myself for doing so.

It is hard to say to someone you care about, even if it is a new friends, that you are done. Done with something, anything that they are doing with you, to you etc.

Tonight already I sent out a few emails to others sharing my thoughts and feelings.

I took people off my social media pages and off wordpress and anything that would connect or give another person the rights to my life or anything that would give them access to my business life, anyway.

I thought back to when I was the most successful. When I had my Dating Site and it was just me. S was gone by that time and I was handling things on my own. I was in charge. I decided if I went to an event. I decided if I paid for Marketing with a company or for Advertising. I manged my Social Media and I managed the website and the events and everything in between.

Doing this alone, mind you was not easy, and I really DO like to delegate. But I want a ME. I want a ME that shows up for work happy and energetic and willing to do what needs to be done. I want a ME that works above and beyond the call of duty and assignments asked and ends up WOWING the boss. I want a ME that cheers my boss on and is their right hand. Reality is, the only me is ME. Dumb I know, but how much truth is there in that. A lot I tell you.

So, I got used to there being no one like me and accepted less than. I allowed others to tell me, "Really, that's the best I could do." Or for others to show up with a half hearted attitude saying they wanted to help, but in the end just made my life more difficult, because I end up having to back track the work they did or end up having to do it myself, anyway because they "couldn't get to it" or "didn't get around to it" or the best lately is " my husband doesn't want me doing this anymore." Yeah that was a good one.  I get it...I do, it is easier to say someone else won't let me. I too have used that line. But to their disadvantage that is true....um hello, yeah I have used that line so I know the truth behind too.

Or the other being, "I am feeling overwhelmed and never realized how much you do" and ironically they hand it all back to me and guess what, I now get to do all MY tasks and now I get to do all the crap you just dropped back on my plate. WOW, gee thanks. Guess what though, I oddly have the capacity and capability to do it....mine and their work too. It just would have been nice if someone were to TRULY help me.

The other thing that happens is they forget that when they are with me, they are representing me, my brand and my business. Finding out that while someone was waiting for me to handle business at a bank they were making faces ate me behind the window, made a very unhappy Trisha, thus me having to remind them of the image they portrayed.

So, tonight, I took people off of being Admins on pages, I removed people from newsletters On MailChimp, and removed others from access on WordPress.

Funny enough, I had actually changed some of those settings weeks ago as a test to see if the people even noticed and because they were NOT truly helping, they didn't even say a thing. I just now tonight, sent the email and finalized some of those things.

Then I sent an email sharing with them how their Toxic behavior would not be allowed and how I expect more.  I shared my thoughts and read and re- read the emails over and over and even walked way for awhile and then came back to them to make sure they were not mean or rude. I tried to let the persons know I still loved them and cared, but it was time for things to change.

This is MY year. I will NOT let anybody get in my way.

My business has finally grown after two years.

I am launching a new startup.

I am planning on moving.

I am getting married.

There is a LOT going on in my life and if anyone thought I moved fast before, they are gonna think I am the Energizer Bunny on CRACK now..lol! Move outta my way unless you wanna get run over.

The people who SHOW UP and SHINE are the people who will be the ones to RISE this year with me. They will be the ones who show me their worth. They will be the ones who WOW me. They will be the people who appreciate me, respect me and treat me right. They will not only Carry their Weight but will be so good they might even carry mine. And that's good. That's GREAT in fact!

The year is starting off with a BANG so far with the new start up in production testing and my other business getting some much needed recognition.

Things are great with my man by my side as he should be. We compliment each other. We are good for each other. We work well together. We fit.

I have a few others that , so far, have proven their worth and have been carrying their weight...so far. It is always good in the beginning. Let's just keep that momentum going and we will be good to go!

I don't like having to tell people they need to get their crap together, I don't like having to tell someone they let me down, I don't like being let down so of course I don't want to have to tell them that, and mostly I don't like having to remove people from accounts and such.

But in the end, MY NAME is on the masthead.

So in the end, my head will roll if it goes sour.

and in my life, the only head rolling better be my Mannequin Head, Miss Kim, on the floor if I drop her. :)

The Year of Me

I found this post about Speaking to The Audience of One...

http://chrisguillebeau.com/blogging-for-an-audience-of-one/

and it really spoke to me.

It got me thinking about how when I first started this blog it was to be able to freely write. As the years went on, my post count went up and down however something I realized is that in 2011 when I had the highest posts, I was more at ease that year. I felt more connected to my life. I felt like I had overcome a lot and I felt whole.

I realized that in that year, I just wrote to write.

I didn't care who was listening it was just healing for me to write, to pour out my thoughts.

I miss that.

I think with all the Social Media we have forgotten what it used to be and where we used to connect.

Now we write in Tumblr and on Facebook Notes and such. The issue with that is to open yourself up so freely allows for hurt, rejection and the possibility of offending someone you had NO intention of offending just because what YOU said hit home to THEM.

Of course, there is still that chance if you allow comments on your blog (which I do) that you could have a little drama based on the comments, but remember, YOU control the response. You do not have to reply back to the haters or negative commenters.

But I digress.

Blogging shouldn't just be about who you are reaching, or if someone is going to click on some ad you are posting or if they comment back.

Like Chris says, Blogging for One can be exhilarating.

I think it is refreshing and eye opening.

It is like writing that letter you never intend to send.

It is Cathartic just in the writing alone.

You can also lock down a blog to be Private if you want and no one EVER has to see it but you.

No matter what your style, consider blogging for yourself.

I am.

I am going back to ME time.

Writing my thoughts, feelings and aspirations in my blog.

If you comment, you do.

If you decide to follow me, you do.

If you repost my blogs, you do.

Not to be rude or anything, but I don't care. And WOW how freeing it is not to care. To know that this year...

This year is the year of ME.

This is the year I get back to my soul.

This year is my year.

And I'm going to make it my year in every way I can. Starting with my Blog.

These are my days and As the Days Go By so will I write, share, conspire and connect....\

with me.

Until Next Time,

Miss Trisha

Reciprocity

I take notice... like when people tell me things like "I don't have time to ..." go to my event or do something for me, or talk to me...however, as I said I notice they DO have time to go to other things, talk to other people or do other things. I notice when they choose to spin their wheels on things that get them nowhere and I notice when they choose to not help me or my business to grow because to them, they don't see the growth potential that I do for myself AND for them.

Essentially what you are saying to me or another person when you do these things is that your priorities are different is all. People need to grow up and fess up and just say " I have different priorities than you and these other things are more important to me".

Those who don't go in my book (so to speak) and I remember who was here for em, who helped me, whose back I scratched and if they scratched  mine back, reciprocity goes a long way.

Failure to be reciprocal is the stopgate.

That old addage "Remember me when you get to the top or remember me when you get big...etc" welllll, you see I remember...oh yeah, I remember the good, the bad and the ugly.

Final line to me is "If you are there for me then I will be there for you."

Reciprocity Goes a Long Way...
Giving of it is remembered.
Lack of it is remembered too.

Third Wedding Attendance Issues

"I am unable to make it to your wedding. It's not like I haven't seen you get married, I mean I went to your OTHER wedding."

SO, SO, SOOOOOOOOOOOO, tired of hearing this.

I mean, I get it, life happens, you can't afford the fare, or your are having health issues, I understand I do, but then let that be the end of it. Don't add those words.

Telling ANY bride who has been married before, "Well, I was at your first wedding" is like fighting words. It's like a slap in the face. It's like, saying "I don't want to eat dinner because I had breakfast" Or "Aren't the memories of me being at that one good enough for you? "

Um, no. I mean, do you want to splice you into the pictures? Do you want me to splice in the memories too?

I looked it up and found this site that talks a little bit about going or not going to someone's wedding for the third time. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf24672949.tip.html#feedback

I asked today on #WeddingWire about it and am waiting a response for advice.

I get that people went to the first one but this one is not the same. I want memories of you at THIS wedding. I want you there because you are important to me. If you weren't , I would NOT have invited you. It is already a small number of invites under 40 persons now. It's not like I invited two hundred to a third wedding. You were chosen as a part of the select few with whom I asked to be tehre with us in our small circle of family and friends. Can't you see how that tells you what an important part of my life you are? I mean, it is not like I willy nilly just invited everyone in my address book. No I asked you and 39 other CLOSE people in my life.

All in all, I will be ok with it. The day will come and go and I will have fun no matter what.

Mostly, I am trying to figure out, how do I tell people to STOP FREAKIN SAYING THAT because it is upsetting and hurts my feelings and to me, really should not be said nor have any bearing and your attendance or not.

The ONLY time is could be said is if you are NOT gong BECAUSE it is my third wedding and if that is the case, I guess I don't want you there anyway if that is how you feel.

Though, I really do think, people are unable to go for valid reason, which then, Please don't say that to me and NEVER say that to a bride as it IS quite hurtful.

Until next time,
XoXo Trisha Trixie

The One You Keep Trying to Forget

As I sit watching Gilmore Girls and it was the breakup scene. Loralei visits an ex and goes on this rant about all these random things then comes around to the fact that she couldn't tell Rory about how long it took to get over him because she isn't over him.

This brings me to my thoughts. ..He's still the one I can't get over. Despite my current situation, despite past ex husbands , and boyfriends, him..he's the one I can't get over.

I think there's always that one. No matter how long or whatever you have been through, he's the one you still think about. We all have that one person that we will always still think about,is all I'm saying.

We tried to be friends. Nope.

I finally said I'm done, trying, to be something we said no to a long time ago. So the emails stopped. And I thought that was it.

Ha if only I we're so lucky.

No, I'm a sap. Like all those other saps. Like those saps you read about our see in movies. Yep, that's me.

I'll be fine, going about my business, then, something will happen...a show will make me think about it, or I'll pass by a picture he drew or like today, as I was posting to Google ,I saw that I was still following him I guess. There  was his picture. Him. That man. With that smile. In that hat. Looking there.

Ugh.

Why are there those people that do that to you.?!?

Le sigh...

Time to go back to reading Stephanie  St.Claire and Brave Girls and things that remind me that is ok and it will be ok and everything will be fine and is fine.

Positive messages.
Mantras.
Mandalas.
Healing art.
And so on...
..and on...

Because you realize, there is nothing you can do and no matter what you do, you just have to face up to the fact that hes the one you haven't gotten over and you may never get over, and the fact that it is true does, in no way dimiinish the way you feel about the special someone in your life now or ever will because one thing is not the same as the other, it just it's so , and that's the facts!

But yet still,  though you do all those things, you just have to resign yourself to that acknowledgement and be ok with it, no matter what,  because no matter what, no matter what you do,  no matter what you say, or how many books you read, or blogs you write or what you draw or songs you sing or Mandalas you color, the facts are still the facts...

He's  the one you never got over and he will always be the...

The One You Keep Trying  to  Forget
